Sudan Participates in Ministerial Meeting of the African Capacity Building Foundation

Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, participated in the ministerial meeting of the Board of Governors of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Tuesday.

The meeting saw broad participation from African finance ministers, central bank governors, and representatives of African and international institutions focused on capacity building and institutional development.

During the meeting, Dr. Ibrahim held productive bilateral talks with several African officials, including Ethiopian Finance Minister Ahmed Shide, the ACBF Executive Director, and the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).

Discussions focused on supporting Sudan in reconstruction and economic development efforts. It was agreed to identify urgent areas for intervention and dispatch a needs-assessment mission early next year.

In his remarks, Dr. Ibrahim stressed that building national capacities is essential for Sudan’s economic recovery and institutional reform. He emphasized that regional cooperation is key to achieving more equitable and sustainable development, adding that Sudan is committed to working with partners to strengthen human and institutional capacity across Africa for a stronger, more prosperous continent.
