Turkish Investors Return to Sudan

Turkish Ambassador to Sudan Fatih Yıldız has announced the return of Turkish businessmen and investors to Khartoum and the resumption of production and distribution operations from Turkish-owned factories serving the local market — signaling a new phase of economic cooperation between the two countries after a period of political and security challenges.

In a post on his official account, Ambassador Yıldız confirmed that the Aslan Gypsum Factory has been fully rehabilitated and resumed production, describing the milestone as a “revival of industrial life in Khartoum” and a reflection of Turkey’s commitment to supporting Sudan’s economic recovery and reconstruction efforts.

“The people of Khartoum and Sudan will regain their strength — and the Turkish people will always stand by your side,” Yıldız said.

The Aslan Factory is one of the flagship Turkish investments in Sudan, producing building materials and gypsum that meet a large portion of domestic demand. Its reopening is expected to stimulate economic activity and create new job opportunities for Sudanese youth.

Yıldız also expressed Turkey’s readiness to assist in reconstruction, citing Turkish contractors’ extensive experience in post-conflict rebuilding efforts, as demonstrated in Iraq and Syria.

The return of Turkish investors marks a gradual recovery of foreign investment in Sudan and underscores Ankara’s enduring economic partnership with Khartoum, particularly in infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.
