Washington: Ending the War in Sudan Among Trump’s Priorities

The U.S. State Department has confirmed that ending the war in Sudan is among Washington’s key priorities, noting that Khartoum looks forward to benefiting from President Trump’s regional peace initiative.

A State Department spokesperson said that President Donald Trump’s top priority is ending wars worldwide, and that Sudan is currently among the administration’s main foreign policy concerns.

Speaking to Asharq News, the spokesperson added, “We remain committed to supporting dialogue that leads to peace and ends the suffering of the Sudanese people.”

“The United States continues to focus on working with partners and stakeholders to resolve the crisis in Sudan,” the spokesperson continued, adding that Washington is looking forward to an upcoming meeting of the Quad—comprising the United States, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
