Prime Minister to UN Official: Determined to End Rebellion and Achieve Peace

Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris affirmed to the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Denise Brown, on Monday the government’s determination to achieve peace and end the rebellion.

During their meeting, the Prime Minister provided a detailed briefing on recent developments and outlined the government’s priorities and vision for restoring stability throughout Sudan.

Denise Brown, in turn, presented the UN’s operational plan for Sudan in the coming phase, reiterating the organization’s commitment to supporting the Sudanese people and alleviating the suffering of those affected by the conflict. She also briefed the Prime Minister on her field visits to Khartoum and Darfur states, including Tawila, Zalingei, Nertiti, and Zamzam Camp.

The Prime Minister praised the humanitarian role played by UN agencies in Sudan, affirming the government’s commitment to facilitating their work across all states. Dr. Idris reiterated Sudan’s resolve to move forward toward peace and the end of rebellion in accordance with the government’s publicly announced national vision and roadmap.
