Khartoum Airport Officially Reopens After Long Shutdown

Khartoum International Airport officially resumed operations on Wednesday with the landing of a Badr Airlines passenger flight, marking the return of civilian air travel from the Sudanese capital after more than two years of suspension due to the war.

The airport administration announced in a statement posted on its official page that “a Badr Airlines flight landed on Wednesday at Khartoum International Airport, officially inaugurating the airport and restoring air traffic from the capital.”

The administration described the event as a major milestone in reviving Sudan’s aviation sector and gradually restoring air traffic operations.

According to sources cited by Sudan Tribune, the Badr Airlines flight took off about two hours later, carrying Sovereign Council Chairman General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan to Port Sudan.
