Government Holds Militia Responsible for Death of Dar Hamar Tribal Leader

The Sudanese government strongly condemned systematic crimes and grave violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia against innocent civilians, including deliberate destruction of state institutions, representing a flagrant violation of human rights and international norms.

The government held the Al-Digalo terrorist militia fully accountable for the death of Prince Abdelkader Monem Mansour, leader of the Dar Hamar tribes, citing restrictions on his movement, denial of medical travel abroad, and lack of essential healthcare—a clear violation of the right to life and health, potentially amounting to a crime against humanity.

In a statement, the government noted that targeting traditional leaders and local officials killed in multiple areas of Kordofan and Darfur constitutes a fully-fledged act of war. It condemned attacks on civilians and vital infrastructure as a dangerous escalation threatening public safety and as a blatant breach of international humanitarian law.

The government called on the international community and regional and human rights organizations to condemn these brutal acts, urgently act to halt militia crimes, and hold perpetrators accountable to protect civilians and uphold human rights.
