Customs Authority Signs Partnership Agreement to Establish and Operate Pre-Arrival Declaration Platform

On Thursday, the Sudan Customs Authority signed a partnership agreement with Sustainable & Alpha Group to establish and operate a Pre-Arrival Declaration Platform for Shipments.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of Customs on behalf of the authority and a representative of the company, in a ceremony attended by Minister of Finance Dr. Jibril Ibrahim and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance Abdullah Ibrahim.

Customs Director General Lt. Gen. Salah Ahmed Ibrahim stated that the agreement aligns with the Customs Authority’s digital integration program connecting it with relevant agencies to facilitate foreign trade in accordance with international standards—enhancing the reliability of Sudan’s trade operations.

He explained that the agreement ensures the implementation of an advanced pre-declaration system that enables monitoring and verification of shipment data before loading, thereby preventing non-compliant goods from entering the country and strengthening port security. The system, he added, also enhances operational efficiency by streamlining customs clearance procedures, expediting cargo flow, and reducing port congestion—while ensuring accurate tax collection on imports to boost state revenues.
