Plans Underway to Restart Sugar Factories

Minister of Industry and Trade Mahasin Ali Yaqoub announced her ministry’s commitment to supporting manufacturing industries in White Nile State, revealing ongoing arrangements to restart the White Nile Sugar Factory and several others in the region.

During a meeting in Port Sudan on Monday with White Nile State Governor Lt. Gen. Qamar al-Din Mohamed Fadl al-Moula, the minister discussed challenges facing the industrial sector and reviewed strategies to address obstacles hindering the resumption of sugar and cement production.

Yaqoub shared encouraging updates on upcoming industrial projects in the state, including fish canning plants, prosthetics manufacturing, and efforts to revive sugar production nationwide.
