Livestock Ministry Unveils a Five-Year Strategic Plan

The Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Abd Al-Rahim Al-Mansouri, revealed the development of a five-year strategic plan that includes 33 projects covering various livestock sectors.

This came during his meeting on Monday at his office in the premises of the Research and Fisheries Authority in the Red Sea State with Andrea Pozzuto, Director of the Italian organization CIAM Badi.

Andrea Pozzuto briefed the minister on the organization’s work in the Red Sea State, which includes rehabilitating infrastructure for the labor market, providing agricultural inputs, fertilizers, and small equipment, as well as rehabilitating the Veterinary Research Institute in Kassala State. He also discussed support for vaccine companies for different diseases, institutional training, and capacity building for workers in the fisheries sector.

Andrea further pledged that the organization would provide training for personnel working in fisheries and laboratories.
He added that a report could be submitted to the Italian government to fund any project agreed upon between the ministry and the organization, under the supervision of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
