Sudan Launches Electronic Import Service

Sudan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced the launch of electronic commercial and personal import services via the “Baldna” digital platform—a step the ministry described as essential for accelerating digital transformation and simplifying import procedures.

According to an official circular, citizens and companies can now submit and track import requests entirely online, including electronic company accounts and the option for individuals to apply for personal imports once every two months, with a maximum value of USD 3,000.

The ministry stated that the move represents a significant leap toward improving the business environment, enhancing transparency, and unifying clearance procedures at ports through the electronic import permit—ultimately reducing procedural time and previous complications.
