Juba Delegation Discusses Oil Export Flow in Port Sudan

A delegation from the Republic of South Sudan, headed by Tut Gatluak, Advisor to President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Security Affairs, and including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, and a number of technical experts, visited the oil export terminals in Port Sudan—Bashayer 1 and 2—accompanied by Sudan’s Minister of Energy, Engineer and Advisor Al-Mu‘tasim Ibrahim.

The delegation held discussions with Petrodar Pipeline Company (PETCO) and Bashayer Pipeline Company (BAPCO), which transport South Sudan’s crude oil through pipeline networks. The talks focused on ensuring the smooth flow of crude oil exports, maintaining operational continuity, and strengthening cooperation between the two countries in this vital sector, which is of great importance to both nations.

The Minister of Energy affirmed his ministry’s technical readiness to operate and maintain petroleum facilities in service of both countries. He explained that the visit falls within the framework of mutual exchanges between the two sides regarding oil flow operations, stressing that Sudan and South Sudan are like one family managing a shared sector of major economic significance to both countries.
