Darfur Region Governor and Sudan Liberation Movement leader Minni Arko Minnawi on Tuesday urged residents of border areas in North Darfur adjacent to Chad to hold and defend their land, warning against relinquishing it to what he termed “invaders.”
The appeal follows reports that the Rapid Support Forces have mobilized fighters to attack the localities of Al-Tina, Ambaro, and Karnoi along three axes, according to military sources.
Addressing residents in the local language, Minnawi said: “This is the moment of land, dignity, and self-defense. Whoever stands today on Darfur’s soil stands on a history written in patience, tears, and resilience.”
He added: “Do not let your land be plundered, your memory erased, or your homes handed over to invaders. Stand firm like mountains and unite—strength lies in unity, and victory is born of unbreakable will. Hold fast to your rights and defend your existence; land not protected by its people is stolen, and dignity not defended is assassinated.”
