Launch of Sudan’s First Fully Electronic Export Contract

The “Baladna” platform has marked a major milestone in Sudan’s digital transformation journey by executing the country’s first fully electronic export contract transaction for foreign trade. The process was directly integrated with the systems of the Central Bank of Sudan and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, within a unified government data-exchange framework that eliminated paper-based procedures from start to finish.
The export contract transaction was sent and received through the approved electronic system without any paper documentation. The technical team at the Central Bank of Sudan confirmed receipt of a complete export contract from the Ministry of Trade and Industry via official digital channels, demonstrating the operational readiness of the technical infrastructure for institutional data exchange.
The electronic linkage encompassed an integrated system involving the Ministry of Trade, Customs, the Standards and Metrology Authority, ports, border crossings, the Taxation Chamber, and the Zakat Chamber, in addition to veterinary and health clearance certificates. This integration reinforces the single-window concept for foreign trade and accelerates transaction processing.
The process was carried out in the presence of Engineer Ali Hamad, representing the Minister of Digital Transformation and Communications, with the participation of representatives from the Central Bank of Sudan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, underscoring official commitment to expanding digital services.
This achievement is expected to simplify export and import procedures for companies and business owners, enhance the activation of electronic services through the Baladna platform, and improve government service efficiency by integrating systems—thereby supporting foreign trade and reducing transaction time and costs.
