WFP Calls for Safe Corridors to Deliver Food to Kordofan Cities

The World Food Programme (WFP) announced that humanitarian aid deliveries in the Kordofan region are continuing despite the escalating fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

In a press statement issued on Friday, the WFP said food assistance is still reaching displaced communities in Kadugli, stressing its urgent need for safe humanitarian corridors and sufficient funding to sustain operations.

The agency described the recent escalation of hostilities in Kordofan as deeply alarming, but noted that there remains an opportunity to prevent a repeat of the catastrophe witnessed in El Fasher.
