Russian forces stationed in the Central African Republic have, for the first time, crossed into Sudanese territory, expelling police elements affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and administrative staff from a border area.
A local official in the Sudanese town of Um Dafuq told Darfur24 on Sunday that Russian forces operating in the Central African Republic entered the area of “Karkar” on Friday for the first time.
He stated that the Russian troops advanced into Karkar—a town shared by the two countries—and ordered the RSF militia, which is responsible for policing and security, along with administrative personnel, to immediately leave the area.
According to the official, after local offices were reopened, Russian forces arrived and expelled the Sudanese personnel, including RSF militia police, forcing them to retreat toward the town of Um Dafuq.
