Member of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Shams al-Din Kabashi, on Saturday paid a visit to displaced people arriving from Darfur and Kordofan in the southern rural areas and the Salha administrative zone of Jadin.
Addressing the displaced crowds, Kabashi pledged that they would soon return to their homes, affirming that the victories of the armed forces and allied units would continue until the liberation of every inch of national territory.
He commended the performance of the Khartoum State government for welcoming the arrivals as dignified citizens in their own country and for providing them with food assistance.
For his part, Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza said the state had opened its arms to the displaced, stressing that necessary support had been provided, including supplies needed ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
