Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin Salim Ahmed, held a phone call with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as part of Sudan’s expression of solidarity with Azerbaijan following a drone attack targeting the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
During the call, the Sudanese minister expressed Sudan’s solidarity—both government and people—with the government and people of Azerbaijan. He also voiced concern over the attacks that targeted civilian infrastructure and violated Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over its territory, describing them as actions that contravene the rules and principles of international law.
The two ministers also exchanged views on related developments and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Sudan and Azerbaijan, as well as expanding joint cooperation between the two countries.
