
A member of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, has reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to continued cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to develop and advance the country’s agriculture and livestock sectors.
During a meeting on Thursday at his office in Khartoum with the organization’s Resident Representative, Hongjie Yang, Jaber expressed his appreciation for the significant efforts made by the FAO in supporting Sudan’s agricultural sector.
For his part, FAO Resident Representative Hongjie Yang confirmed the organization’s full readiness to support the Sudanese government and farmers in order to advance the agricultural sector and increase productivity at the local level. He noted that Sudan possesses vast agricultural potential that qualifies it to become a leading producer in the field of agricultural production.
