Burhan: No Negotiations with the Rebellion

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, renewed his firm position against entering into any negotiations with the rebel forces, stressing the Armed Forces’ determination to continue until every inch of the homeland desecrated by the militia has been liberated.

Speaking on Tuesday at a large ceremony marking the opening of Al-Karama Secondary School in Village 5 in the New Amri area, which falls under Marawi Locality in the Northern State, Burhan saluted the residents of the area and praised their significant national contributions and historic sacrifices for the development and stability of Sudan.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council stressed that providing the residents of Amri with the means for a dignified life is an inherent right of theirs and a direct responsibility of the central government, the state government and the locality administration. He said this was an expression of appreciation for their sacrifices and directed that immediate action be taken to address all development problems facing the area.

For his part, Northern State Governor Lieutenant General Abdel Rahman Abdel Hamid affirmed his government’s commitment to resolving the outstanding issues and files in the Amri area, which have remained unresolved for years. He praised the local community’s role in implementing service projects and their strong support for the army in the “Battle of Dignity.”

Following his visit to the agricultural project in the area, the governor highlighted the high level of preparedness and the farmers’ clear determination to make the winter agricultural season a success, thereby contributing to securing food for the people of Sudan.
