Opening of Gold Complex in Northern State

The Acting Minister of Investment and Industry in the Northern State, Engineer Omer Ali Saleh, announced arrangements to sign a draft agreement between the Northern State, represented by the Ministry of Investment and Industry, and the Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited (SMRC), to further control and legalize mining and benefit from its revenues in supporting the various programs and projects of the state, through the expected visit of the Director General of the SMRC to the Northern State.

The Supreme Committee for Preparation and Arrangement for the Opening of the Gold Building held a meeting (Tuesday) in the premises of the General Secretariat of the State Government, headed by the Governor of the Northern State and Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Abdeen Awadallah, to discuss the arrangements for the opening of the Gold Building in the North.

It is worth noting that the tasks and powers of the Supreme Committee are to prepare and arrange well to open the gold building and prepare the site in accordance with the controls, guided by the experience of the gold building in Khartoum, setting controls to regulate activity in the markets, directing the product to the single channel, attracting capital and businessmen working in the activity and trading of gold, as well as tightening coordination with local authorities, regulatory bodies and government institutions.
