ESCWA: promoting economic development in Arab States

Sudan participated in the work of
The United Nations Economic Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) at its 31st ministerial session held in Cairo to discuss governance challenges in the Arab region.
Al-Fateh Abdullah Youssef, Minister of Trade and Supply, stressed the importance of ESCWA role in enhancing Arab and regional cooperation in the field of development, natural resources, competition in markets, recovery and prevention of conflicts, calling for confronting the challenges facing joint strategic projects, which must be implemented within the specified time frame.
The ministerial meeting adopted recommendations and decisions to guide the committee’s work for the coming period in promoting comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development in Arab countries and promoting regional integration.
