International Federation fines Al-Ahly of Egypt 70,000 francs

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) fined the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club an amount of 70,000 Swiss francs as punishment for the colored cards its players received in the Club World Cup hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to FIFA’s decision, Al-Ahly of Cairo was fined for expelling its players with a red card, and others received warnings during the matches between Al-Ittihad Jeddah and the Brazilian Fluminense, the South American champions.
Al-Ahly Club will face Japanese club Urawa in the 2023 Club World Cup in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to determine third and fourth places.
