Expert Warns Against Economic Catastrophes

A Sudanese economic expert, Professor Naji Mustafa, has described the disruption of the winter agricultural season and its related activities in Gezira State which hosts the Gezira Agricultural project, central Sudan, as an event that is probably going to result in a major economic disaster.
Dr Mustafa has pointed out in a statement to Sudan Events that the economic disasters that ensue as a result of the incursion and the expansion of the war to the Gezira, disruption of plans conceived for localizing industries in the region, would contribute to this economic disaster.
He argued that Madani has been the gateway for products and goods to Darfur, Kordufan, Blue Nile, White Nile, and Sinnar states. He noted that the production coming from all these state cross the Hantoub bridge on its way to other states and for export.
