Saudi Discipline Punishes Al-Ittihad Club
Saudi Arabia – Sudan Events
The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation issued a decision on Tuesday, to punish Al-Ittihad Jeddah Club after its match against Al-Raed in the Roshan Saudi Professional League.
Ittihad Jeddah lost to its counterpart, Al-Raed, by three goals to one, last Saturday, in the 18th round of the Saudi League.
The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee decided, in a statement on Tuesday, to fine the Jeddah club 19,375 thousand Saudi riyals (about 5 thousand US dollars), due to the delay in the team’s players entering the field, which led to a delay in the start of the second half of the team’s match against Al-Raed.
Al-Ittihad is suffering from several technical and morale problems that affected its results and kept it from competing to maintain its title as champion of the Saudi League, as it fell to sixth place with 28 points, 22 points behind leaders Al-Hilal.
