Government Arrangements to Ensure No Agricultural Areas Exit the Production Cycle

As part of the serious efforts being made by the senior management of the Gezira Project to secure the water needs for summer crops and address the remaining irrigation requirements, Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa, Director of the Agricultural Department, emphasised the administration’s commitment to providing irrigation water for areas that are nearing harvest to ensure no agricultural areas exit the production cycle. In this regard, Engineer Qasimullah Khalifallah, Director General of Irrigation Operations, announced the readiness of the irrigation administration to provide petroleum products for the owners of drilling equipment to address congestion sites in coordination between irrigation engineers and department directors in Al-Gai’at. The focus will be on prioritising the most congested sites with weeds and debris, starting today, Tuesday.
