Kuwaiti Patient Assistance Fund Supports Disease Vector Control in Gezira

The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gezira State, Dr. Osama Abdel Rahman, revealed the regularity of disease vector control campaigns with the support of the Kuwait Patient Aid Fund and the Federal Ministry of Health, which contributed to reducing the seriousness of the epidemiological situation.
During the visit of the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Muhammad Ibrahim, to the State to review the health situation, Abdul Rahman called for additional budgets for combating the disease.
In addition, the Supervisor of the General Department of Health Emergencies at the Ministry announced the registration of two suspected measles cases and one of flaccid paralysis. In comparison, suspected cases of dengue fever were 82 cases, 64 confirmed cases, and 10 imported cases, noting that the reporting centres numbered 187 centres.
The Federal Minister appealed to foreign and national organisations to play a role in improving drinking water sources, especially in shelter centres.
