87 Cumulative Dengue Fever Cases in Gezira State

The General Department of Health Emergencies and Epidemic Control, Ministry of Health, Gezira State, announced that dengue fever infections had risen to 87 cases cumulatively, following the recording of 4 infections yesterday, Friday. There has been one new death, bringing the total to 3 deaths.
According to the cumulative report on dengue fever for the period from 9/19 – 6/10, the administration confirmed the presence of 105 suspected cases.
The Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Osama Abdel Rahman, called on citizens to drain, dry and wash water storage tanks and utensils every three days and expose them to the sun to prevent the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes, which transmit the disease inside homes.
