The Sudanese protest in London in support of the army and the criminalization of the Janjaweed militia

Sudan Events – Somaya Sayed

On Saturday, at one o’clock in the afternoon, the British capital, London, witnessed a rumbling demonstration in which hundreds of Sudanese residing in Britain participated. They gathered in front of the British Foreign Office. They headed from there to the British Parliament buildings, chanting slogans denouncing the practices of the Janjaweed (RSF) as they killed innocent civilians, children, women, and the elderly, arrested young men, raped women of all ages, and recruited children, in violation of international humanitarian law.
The prisoners were not spared from the violations of the Janjaweed, as they starved them and placed them under harsh mental health conditions. The Rapid Support Militia also destroyed and sabotaged Khartoum’s government institutions, facilities, and infrastructure, burning universities, damaging libraries, museums and documentation centres and looting homes, shops and markets.
