Committee of Public University Administrators to Meet with Al-Burhan

The meeting directors of Sudanese public universities formed a committee to meet with Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, to provide full support to higher education institutions and additional management to help universities open their doors and resume their academic activities.
The meeting assigned the chairmanship of the committee to the director of the University of Gezira and the membership of the directors of the universities of Khartoum, Sennar, Al-Nilein, the Red Sea and Kassala, ensuring the implementation of the decision to open universities in the safe and stable states, while leaving the universities to approve an action plan according to their discretion and in coordination with the relevant authorities in the state concerned.
The attendees praised the initiative of universities in safe and stable states to host students and faculty members of universities affected by the war to work there and provide them with all capabilities.
The meeting considered occupying the interior offices with sheltering citizens who were displaced from the affected areas and the impact of this on starting work on receiving students, calling for the need to address the matter at all political and executive levels, with an emphasis on the integrated roles of universities and the National Fund for Student Welfare and the formation of committees for coordination between state governments and university administrators. And the Fund to continue the work.
