Defence Lawyer in ICC Denies Accusations against Kushaib

Defence Lawyers of defendant Ali Kushaib (72 years) who is accused by the International Criminal Court (ICC), denied his involvement on commiting 31 war crimes as reported to the ICC.
The Defense Lawyer in the Hague said in Thursday session of the ICC that their client wasn’t a Sudanese militia leader and has no role in the ongoing conflict in the country as he was just a pharmacist.
The prosecution alleged that the defendant was a high rank leader in the Janjaweed militia during the period 2003 – 2004 and that he was involved in attacks against civilians, but his lawyer said that his client was woiin a remote area in Darfur and was not a leader or loyal to militia.
It is worth noting that Ali Abdul-, Rahman (Kushaib) surrendered himself the the authorities in Central African Republic near the Sudanese borders in 2020. He is facing life imprisonment if proved quilty.
