Decline in Gold Production from Mining Areas in Sudan
Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
A member of the Gold Exporters Association, Atef Ahmed, revealed in his statement to Sudan Event an apparent decline in the volume of gold coming from mining areas, influenced by the ongoing war in Khartoum and other states.
He confirmed that gold exports are restricted to producing companies and are not open to private individuals.
Atef also pointed out the local rise in gold prices, with the manufactured gram of gold ranging between 62,000 to 63,000 Sudanese pounds, depending on its quality, while the raw gram is priced between 55,000 to 56,000 Sudanese pounds.
