Cautions in Jeddah Forum Negotiations
Sudan Events – Report by Muawad Rashid
Today all the Sudanese people are aspiring that Jeddah Forum Negotiations which is supposed to resume today pay-off and bring an end to the ongoing war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)
The resumption of Jeddah Forum negotiations is a commendable step irrespective of the mediators intention.
We fully support the Sudanese Army stance that the negotiations must be limited on humanitarian issues, the exit of the RSF militia from the residences of the citizens and public facilities to any place outside Greater Khartoum.
There are redlines which must not be neglected which can be summarized as follows:
First: No amnesty for the atrocities committed by the RSF militia and its allies.
Every criminal must be brought to book.
Second: No return to any military or political partnership with the blocs or organizations that supported or gave a blind eye to the atrocities of the RSF militia.
Third: Only the Sudanese Armed Forces should administrate the transitional period.
Fourth: Disarmament and reintegration of any armed groups according to security arrangements policies and procedures.
Fifth: Immediate arrangements to bring the military compounds outside the residential areas.
Sixth: Compansating the citizens for the damages caused by the war according to just and transparent measures.
We, as Sudanese, are putting our hearts in our hands, or say putting our hands in our hearts waiting to hear good news from Jeddah.
