UNFPA supports project to reduce maternal mortality in Sudanese state

The representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
Dr. Aya Abdel Hafeez, said the aim of the mobile clinics project is to increase the indicators of pregnancy planning and spacing between births, which help reduce maternal and newborn mortality and reach good indicators in the following gender-based violence.

Following the inauguration of the clinics at Karima Health Center in North Kordofan in El Obeid (Tuesday), Abdel Hafeez confirmed the continuation of the partnership between the Fund, the Sudanese Red Crescent Society and the Ministry of Health in the state.

The Executive Director of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SARCS) State Branch indicated that the project is supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

The project coordinator, Afrah Mohamed Hamed, noted that the clinics will continue until next November
