The US State Department said in a statement today, Thursday, that it is concerned about reports of an imminent large-scale attack by the Rapid Support (RSF) Militia on the Darfur region, western Sudan.
US State Department added that it had received reliable reports indicating that the RSF militias and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) did not take the necessary measures to prevent civilian casualties.
US State Department also called for an immediate cessation of attacks launched by the RSF militia in Al-Fasher, North Darfur state.
US State Department had previously announced that the United States, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Intergovernmental Authority for Development, along with the African Union, had resumed humanitarian talks and ceasefire talks between the SAF and the RSF.
