Vice-President of Sudan’s Sovereign Council meets Senior Chinese Official in Beijing

Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Malik Agar, deputy TSC in Beijing on Thursday.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said China and Sudan have a deep and long-standing friendship, and have always trusted and supported each other.
He noted that the fruitful meeting between the leaders of the two countries last December set a clear direction for the in-depth development of the China-Sudan strategic partnership.
China will not back down from its position on the development of China-Sudan relations, and will continue to support Sudan in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, achieving internal peace and stability, and exploring the development path that suits its national conditions, he said.
For his part, Agar said that Sudan attaches importance to the important role played by China in international affairs, and thanked China for its interest in the situation in Sudan.
China is expected to support Sudan in restoring stability, implementing reconstruction and achieving development.
Wang said that achieving stability in Sudan as soon as possible not only conforms to the fundamental interests of the Sudanese people, but also contributes to regional peace and security.

He noted that China supports all parties in Sudan in pushing for a political transition led by the Sudanese people through dialogue and consultation
He added, “We are ready to continue providing assistance to the best of our ability, and we believe that the Sudanese people will overcome the difficulties and return their country to the right path of stability and development.”
