CAF Discusses Participation of Professionals in “Shan”

Confederation of African Football (CAF) is currently considering a proposal for African professional players within the continent to participate with their national teams in the African Cup of Nations for locals “Shan”.

The tournament regulations, which aim to develop local players, prohibit the participation of professionals inside and outside the African continent, only allow players to participate in their respective leagues.

Kenya is organizing the next African Nations Championship (CHAN) in September 2024, in addition to hosting the East and Central African Championship “CECAFA” U-18.
