Miami Police: Ahmed’s Death May Not Be of Religious Background
Sudan Events – Sumaya Sayed
Ahmed Elraiah Ahmed Ali had arrived in Miami less than a week before he was shot and killed late Tuesday night at a gas station in Miami Gardens, police said.
“It’s too early right now,” said Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt. “We just don’t know. Was he targeted? We don’t know.”
Though there was no indication that Ahmed Ali’s death was in any way related to his religion, word of his death spread quickly through social media. The posts indicated he was a practicing Muslim.
A screenshot of a post shared by Elraiah’s younger brother said he moved to the U.S. recently and that services and his funeral would take place presumably, at the Sudanese Cultural Centre, in Doha, Qatar.
