Armed Movements – RSF Form Joint Force

A meeting was held on Thursday between the Joint Force of Armed Struggle Movements and a Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Command to discuss the situation in the Darfur region, western Sudan.

The two sides issued a joint statement saying they agreed to work and coordinate on issues of security and stability of the region, protection of citizens, and denying seditionists to tamper with the stability of the region, particularly in El Fasher, while setting up a joint force to protect the region and fight back negative occurrences that undermine security and stability.

The two groups affirmed their commitment to the Juba Peace Agreement and its development to reach a comprehensive and lasting peace agreement. They also pledge to protect humanitarian activities and relief convoys, work together to prevent elements that seek to make the Rapid Support Forces clash with the armed struggle forces, according to the statement.

The meeting was attended by Lt. Gen. Saleh Osman Jabal Si, representative of the Sudan Liberation Movement SLM , the Transitional Council TC Lt-Gen. Abboud, representative of the Sudan Liberation Forces SLF and Maj. Gen.Jaber Ishaq, representative of the Sudan Liberation Movement SLM (Minawi), in addition to Maj. Gen. Hamid Idris Jazm, representative of the Justice and Equality Movement JEM while the Rapid Support RSF was represented by Maj. Gen. Jido Hamdan Abu Nashuk, commander of El Fasher sector, Maj.Gen. Al-Nur Al-Qubba, commander of South Darfur sector, Saleh Al-Quti, and the operations commander for South Darfur, Ali Al-Uhaimar, accompanied by the second commander of the Rapid Support Forces RSF Lt.Gen.Abdul Rahim Hamdan Daglo.
