Organizing committee of the Asian Cup announces the donation of ticket revenues to support Palestine

The Local Organizing Committee of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 announced that it will allocate proceeds from ticket sales for the upcoming Asian Championship to support relief efforts for the brotherly Palestinian people, who are going through a critical crisis that requires everyone to support and provide various types of necessary support.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, stressed the importance of solidarity with the Palestinian people and providing support and assistance to them. In this context, “In light of the current circumstances and the difficult conditions that the brotherly Palestinian people are going through, we have taken the decision to allocate the proceeds from ticket sales for the Asian Cup Qatar 2023 to support relief efforts, in cooperation with the relevant partners.” His Excellency said.
He added that this initiative comes to confirm the importance of the role that football plays in the field of social responsibility and its effective contribution outside the green rectangle, and a belief in the power of football and its impact on societies, especially in times of crisis when there is a great need to provide assistance.
It should be noted that the proceeds will be allocated to provide various basic needs of food and medical supplies in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
Qatar is preparing to host the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 for the third time, as the country previously organized the 1988 and 2011 editions. Twenty-four of the best teams in Asia are scheduled to compete for the championship title. Meanwhile, nine stadiums will witness the start of 51 matches from January 12 to February 10, 2024.
The second batch of tickets for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023’s sale window was opened today at 4 pm.
