Djibouti president commends Jeddah platform

Djiboutian President, Ismail Omar Guelleh – Chairman of the current session of IGAD, has expressed hope that the IGAD summit expected in the first week of next December would meet success and find a solution to the Sudan crisis in a way that achieves security, stability and finds solutions to all the problems facing IGAD member states.
In his meeting today with Al-Burhan, the IGAD chair has praised the role played by Saudi Arabia in hosting the Jeddah platform, noting that it presented solutions at the beginning. He voiced his hope that the outcome of the Jeddah platform would be implemented.
“We are for stopping the war and fighting and returning normal life to the Sudanese people,” said the head of IGAD.
The President of the Sovereign Council had paid a visit to Djibouti today, Sunday, during which he met with the President of Djibouti and briefed him on the repercussions of the brutal attacks, violations and crimes committed by the terrorist rebel Rapid Support militias against civilians and the destruction of the state’s infrastructure, noting the efforts made by Sudan to bring peace to the country.
