A statement published by the party said: The speech of the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiye Ahmed, before his country’s parliament, about what he called “the existential necessity for Ethiopia to reach an outlet in the Red Sea,” continues to raise reactions and raise questions about the motives of the campaign launched by the Ethiopian Prime Minister.
The statement pointed out that the speech received a great response from the Ethiopian media and political circles, but in return it raised many concerns among neighboring countries, particularly in Eritrea, Djibouti, and Somalia, which are the countries that the speech addressed as potential destinations to guarantee the sea port.
The statement continued, in this regard, Ethiopia seeks to reach seaports in the Horn of Africa region as part of a plan that Abiye Ahmed seeks to implement within the framework of his project aimed at achieving economic progress for Ethiopia and overcoming its status as a landlocked country, which increases Ethiopia’s insistence on owning shares in seaports in the region
