Economic
Decision on Gold, Cancelled
Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning agreed to cancel Decision No. 44 issued by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company imposing 400 pounds per gram of gold upon transportation, after an effort that lasted more than two years by the private miners and their opposition to the decision, and finally justice was done to them.
The miners sent a thanks note to all representatives of the gold-producing states, and the preliminary committee of the National Mining Union in Sudan, for their efforts in resisting the decision.
