Soba University Hospital was subjected to organized and intentional looting and vandalism carried out by the Janjaweed militia (RSF), who used their members who were trained in the Soba area after the outbreak of war. They are, in fact (according to the guards’ testimony) residents of the areas surrounding the hospital, the neighborhoods of Soba Al-Hilla, Soba Al-Aradi and others, as they are also the real beneficiaries of the services provided by the hospital. .
The vandalism and looting included the Mycetoma Research Center, the Central Laboratory, the Examination Center, the Sati Center for Laboratory Research, the private section, and the administrative square. In addition to looting all vehicles, including ambulances and the vehicles of the Faculty of Laboratory Sciences, University of Khartoum.
Diagnostic monitors, workstations, as well as arterial catheterization devices and vital signs monitors were also stolen.
The catheterization department was also destroyed, which was established and designed according to the best standard, to work in the field of interventional radiology, interventional peripheral catheterization, cerebral catheterization, and cardiac catheterization.
It is an integrated project in which work was completed in a short period and an estimated number of cases were started and it began to absorb trainees and treat the cases coming to the hospital.
