The English Football Association has charged Manchester City, claiming that its players did not behave in an appropriate manner during the exciting draw with Tottenham (3-3), at the Etihad Stadium, in the matches of the 14th round of the Premier League.
The last minutes of the match witnessed a controversial refereeing decision, when the referee unilaterally stopped Jack Grealish, the Manchester City winger, in order to call a foul to his teammate Erling Haaland, without giving the hosts the opportunity, which sparked protests from City players.
“Manchester City was accused of violating the FA rule, after its players surrounded the referee during the Tottenham Hotspur match, on Sunday, December 3, 2023.” Stated the FA.
“It is alleged that during the 94th minute of the match, the club failed to ensure that its players did not behave in an inappropriate manner.” Added the FA.
According to the British Newspaper The Guardian, Manchester City has until December 7 to respond to this accusation.
