Sudan Events – Rihab Abdalla

The Khartoum Water Corporation on Monday denounced the kidnapping by the militia Rapid Support Forces of Engineer Azahari Al Sir Mohamed Al Hassan from his home and taking him away to an unknown destination

The Public Relations Department at the Corporation pointed out in a circular it issued Monday that the kidnapping of their colleague was a criminal act and a violation of the humanitarian laws.

It said the militia has been used to kidnapping workers and engineers of the corporation from their homes and work place to only subject them to all types of mistreatment.

It further referred to the kidnaping and killing of a number of its staffers during the past few months. It said the group that kidnapped the engineer has demanded a ransom of three million Sudanese pounds for his release.

The circular said the corporation holds the militia responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the engineer and urged humanitarian organizations to intervene for securing the release of the engineer and his return safe to his family.
