Farmers Union: Exports For The Sorghum Approved

Port Sudan – Sudan Events

The head of the Sudan Rain-Fed Sector Farmers Union, Yasser Al-Saab, revealed the Ministry of Trade’s approval to open exports for the sorghum, indicating the Ministry’s readiness to follow up on export operations to the countries of the region and neighboring countries by opening a specialized office in Gedaref.
Yasser Al-Saab gave good news to the people of Sudan that there is a large stock of sorghum from the previous year that will cover the gap for this season and achieve food security.
He said that there are productive areas that have been blessed with plentiful rainfall and areas that have fallen out of production due to lack of rain.
Al-Saab pointed to the obstacles facing farmers, most notably the recent investment law, which withdrew all privileges granted to agriculture.
He said these incentives should be kept so that the farmer can play his full role in achieving food security and supporting the country’s overall economy
