Manchester United coach, Erik Ten Hag, affirmed that his team will restore the services of two of his injured players, before facing Liverpool next Sunday at Anfield, in the 17th round of the English Premier League.
But the Dutch coach made it clear at the same time that his defender, Harry Maguire, would miss the difficult confrontation.
Luke Shaw left during halftime of Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League last Tuesday, but he trained with the first team today.
Ten Hag said, during the introductory press conference for the Liverpool match: “Harry (Maguire) will not be available for the upcoming matches… but I do not think that will last in the long term.”
He continued: “Luke Shaw trained this morning. We believe he is available for Sunday’s match.”
Ten Hag decided who would lead the team in the absence of the suspended Bruno Fernandes, but he refused to reveal his identity.
Ten Hag added: “We will form a team that can challenge. A team that is confident of winning this match. We are preparing the players in the best possible way, and we are confident of our ability to form a team that can win there (at Anfield).”
