US Representative: RSF Refrain from attacks

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The United States Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, has expressed her deep concern over reports of attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against Wad Madani in Sudan – where thousands of people fleeing the war have taken refuge.
The ambassador said in a brief statement published on the page of the US Embassy in Sudan on its platforms today (Saturday) that she was “Gravely concerned by reports of attacks by the Rapid Support Forces on Wad Madani in Sudan – where thousands have sought refuge from war. I urge the RSF to refrain from attacks and for all parties to protect civilians at all costs. Perpetrators of terror will be held accountable”
Yesterday (Friday), the RSF militia transferred the clashes, looting and assaults to the state of Gezira – central Sudan and in the vicinity of its capital, Medani, where the army confronted the attacking forces and inflicted heavy losses on them – according to what the commander of the First Division in the state announced.
But the militia renewed their attack today (Saturday) and looted shops in eastern Medani areas
