Deducting a day’s salary from oil and electricity sector workers
Khartoum – Sudan Events
The Oil Workers Association criticized the imposition of deducting a day’s salary from workers in the oil and electricity sector from the current December salary. A decision was issued by the Ministry of Energy and Oil on December 10 to deduct a day’s salary from the December salary of workers in the oil and electricity sector in favor of what they called “Dignity Charitable Organization,” to support the effort during the time of war.
“The sector’s administration should have known the limits of its powers and offer donation as an option to anyone who wanted it, and not impose it by force. The group condemned such unjust practice that has now justification, and stressed that what was allocated to the state’s budget and the people over the past years is sufficient to protect cities.” Said the group on Facebook.
