Neymar Junior captain of the Brazilian national team and Saudi star of Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, is facing a new shock in his football career.
Rodrigo Lasmar, the Brazilian national team doctor, confirmed that Neymar will miss participating in the Copa America tournament in the summer of 2024.
“It is very early, but there is no need to skip the steps to recover from the injury,” Lasmar said on Brazilian Radio 98.
The 31-year-old Brazilian star underwent surgery on the cruciate ligament in his knee, ensuring his absence from the field for the rest of the season.
Neymar was injured during the match between Brazil and Uruguay last October in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
